Adobe recently announced they will no longer update their Creative Suite offering which commenced with CS1 nearly 10 years ago and which ends with CS6 which is now more than a year old.
The decision to restrict new feature releases to the Creative Cloud means the Cloud is essentially the only upgrade option for Creative Suite users.
Many users have been enthusiastic adopters of CC (10,000 a week and rising), whilst many others have indicated they will not be adopting the package.
Those who have declined the Creative Cloud offering have cited many reasons including company policy, lack of internet access and a fear of losing access to their files when their subscriptions end. Adobe have said they will address some of these issues. But it remains to be seen if the Creative Cloud model will eventually win everyone over.
